Pens Report's own graphics & design man Josh Clifford (@pensmemes) has used his expert eye for aesthetics to put together a look at some of the Penguin Patric Hornqvist's scrappiest moments as captured on film.
His picks of favorite photos are featured in this running series, "Penguins Pictorial". This week he's looking at the kamikaze style that is Patric Hornqvist's game.
Hornqvist is most often found up in goalie's grills, face down on the ice from barreling through players, & at the center of many a scrum. And here are some amazing pictures that have captured those exchanges for posterity.
Patric's style obviously makes him numerous friends and vastly well-liked around the league. Just call him the Penguins' "International Goodwill Ambassador".
New York Rangers
To begin our international tour, we first take a look at some of Patric Hornqvist's history with the Pens' 2016 round 1 playoff opponents, Manhattan natives, the Rangers.
New York Islanders
And just across the river from Manhattan, we have new Brooklyn residents, the Islanders.
On to Philadelphia, where there's always plenty of goodwill shared right back with the Pens from their old friends the Flyers.
Unsurprisingly, Hornqvist, is often in the middle of it all.
Columbus Blue Jackets
"Patric Goes East"
"Way Out West"
The NHL's Western Conference also gets some visits from #72.
And although they are fewer in number, Patric is always sure to make his presence a memorable one for the opposition.
Toronto, Ottawa, & Montreal
Our last stop bring us to Canada. As no NHL tour would be complete without a visit to the Great White North. As it's visits north of the border that put the "international" in Hornqvist's "International Goodwill Ambassador" moniker.
